Peter Gaspersic
PhD in Civil Engineering, Faculty of Civil and Geodetic Engineering, University of Ljubljana Peter Gaspersic began his career in academia as a young researcher at the Faculty of Civil and Geodetic Engineering, where he had graduated and received a Preseren Award for Students for his undergraduate thesis. He also studied in the USA, where he examined the practical aspects of earthquake resistance of structures.
Leaving academia, he worked in the business sector, where he headed several construction investment projects and civil engineering project for different investors. In this line of work, he has acquired knowledge of all aspects of operational leadership: acquiring jobs, project design, realization and monitoring.
He continued his career in public administration, where he held leading positions for ten years, from heading a sector and directorate to being the state secretary, all in the fields of transport, infrastructure and construction. He is an expert who brings an ideal mix of academic competence and practical experience in the business sector connected with heading investment projects and strategic vision for regulating systemic issues in the working area of the ministry.
