Pankaj Birla
Mr. Pankaj has worked for Marriott for over 20 years. After graduating from University in the US, Pankaj worked in various positions in finance on the West Coast and in Hawaii, before moving to his home country to open the first Marriott Hotel in Goa, India.
While in India, Pankaj also opened the first JW Marriott hotel and Renaissance hotel in India.
Pankaj then relocated back to US to work in International Business Management group at Marriott Headquarters in Bethesda, USA.
In 2004 Pankaj was promoted to Area Director of Finance for Eastern Europe based out of Frankfurt, Germany.
In 2010 Pankaj took the opportunity of being opening General Manager for a 300 room Marriott in his home city of Jaipur in India.
In 2012 Pankaj relocated back to Europe as VP of Finance for Europe.
In March 2017 after the acquisition of Starwood Hotels & Resorts, Pankaj was promoted to Area Vice President for Eastern Europe responsible for driving operating performance and growth in Eastern Europe.
In his role he has responsibility for 45 managed hotels spread across 15 countries in Eastern Europe, including Poland, Czech Republic, Hungary, Israel, Russia, Georgia, and Ukraine.
